Summary: I love it 2008-06-29
Comment: First of all, my sewing machine was schedule to arrive in about three weeks, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive it in only a week! It is very easy to work with, easy to thread, easy to use. I make straw bags, so it does the job well. My only issue was the needles, the 90/14 both of which broke. I got another singer brand needle and it broke as well! Well after that I purchased generic needles, and they do the trick. I haven't had one broken needle. Additionally, the zipper attachment broke while I was trying to attach it. But I have been able to use the regular presser foot for attaching zippers. I've only had the machine for about two weeks now, but so far, I'm pleased.

Comment: My daughter and son-in-law gave me this sewing machine as a gift. I was always complaining about how my high priced %#@## machine sewed sideways over a seam with any thickness at all. I longed for the Singer machine I grew up with. Well, let me tell you, I put this machine to the test.
The first thing I did was play with it, of course. All the feet supplied are made out of plastic, except for the main foot. I was testing the 1/4" sewing foot, and set the machine to zig-zag, forgetting which foot I had attached. It broke, but I found a great site where I can get all the quality feet I want for this machine.
The first thing I made is a jacket out of blanket-weight fleece. It has a heavy weight zipper, collar and pockets. I am just amazed at the seam thicknesses it sewed through. I would never have even attempted many of the things I did to this machine on my expensive machine.
At the price and quality, this machine can't be beat. Others have complained that it is made out of plastic, which it is -- but very heavy plastic. I forgot and left my desk lamp on, with a 60 watt bulb, resting right near the top of the machine. It got so hot I couldn't touch it for 15 minutes, but no damage was done.
I am spoiled by many things my expensive machine will do, and will continue to use it. However, I can't wait to make a quilt with this machine, and have ordered the quilting and 1/4" foot. This machine will always be set up and ready to go no matter what project I am working on.

Summary: Do not buy from Home Visions 2008-03-13
Comment: I bought this sewing machine from Amazon and they processed the order through Home Visions. After 2 weeks, I had not received any email or phone call from Home Visions that the order was processed and shipped. When I called Home Visions they told me the order was in their system but it had not shipped and were not sure what the problem was, but they would call me back immediately and tell me what would happen next. It took two more calls to them over the next three days to find out that they still didn't know if they even had one in stock. Pissed off, I canceled the order.
Do not buy from this company, Home Visions. They have terrible customer service!!!

Summary: My Singer Heavy Duty 2008-02-24
Comment: The speed of this machine is wonderful. But, it has no adjustment for changing the amount of pressure for the presser foot, because of this my fabric doesn't feed properly. It gets quite frustrating. I have several other machines including an old tredle and they all have the adjuster. Why doesn't this one have it?
