Professional Serger Sews Very Well,

I used to have a 5 thread Pfaff that had the same issues people complain about. It just takes time to get used to how to thread etc. They work beautifully. What is great is having the professional seam that you don't get on a 4 thread machine and the coverlock stitch. It just takes patience. Once you get used to it and it is easy to thread, it sews like a dream. You need to practice. It is not like a regular machine, you need to work with it and it will perform as advertised.

The machine may have many options but getting it to work consistently is the problem. Very rarely it works as intended the usual daily issues are the thread popping off left back needle every time, jamming, birds nesting and lots of fabric chewing. Singer has gone way way down hill with their products. There is no reason for something made of chap plastic and consistent flaws to be this expensive. The problem is they rushed to be the first to have a 5 thread on the market and ignored quality control. It comes with all kinds of bells and whistles to cover up the fact is nothing great. The interchangeable covers have flimsy plastic tabs to lock them on that break off and the instruction books leaves out a few steps and doesn't explain why most of these issues are occurring. Good luck with customer service at singer caring enough to help you.

DO NOT PURCHASE,

I purchaed this machine. After 15 hours of trying to get the machine to work I encounter the following problems:
right needle breaks/constantly skipping
thread jams
left needle fell off
a flashlight is needed to thread the machine
flimsy machine
not conistant stiching - sometimes great - most of the time poor
when I used a scrap piece of material worked great
Then I inserted the the piece to sew and
I ruined a piece of clothing that costs $50.00 !!!!!
I just spend 2 weekends from 8-5 Satuday/Sunday trying to get the machine to work
You will be sorry if you purchase this machine!!!!
I have been sewing for years - this is a complicted machine that takes all your time with poor results!!!!!!!!!!!
