Product Review

With its smart, sandwich construction and easy operation, the Singer Magic Steam Press cuts ironing time dramatically and leaves fabric looking fresh from the cleaners. Ideal for clothes, linens, sewing projects, and household items like draperies, the press features a streamlined design that can be operated with one hand. It is especially effective on large pieces, which you can pull through while you press them. The plate lever is easy to lower whether you're standing or sitting, and both pressing plate and ironing board rotate 90 degrees for maximum versatility. Suitable for nylon, silk, wool, cotton, and linen, the press features a simple temperature dial and a fabric chart on the casing. The steaming function, controlled with a lever, includes dial-controlled variable steam, as well as a steam burst. The press can also operate dry.

For efficient coverage and safe results, the press features a large, temperature-controlled plate surface and a padded ironing board with a washable cover. The unit comes with stabilizing rubber feet, as well as a pressing cushion for use with gathered fabric. Singer builds in a safety shutoff switch that activates if the press has been closed for 30 seconds or left open without use for 15 minutes. Other handy details include a transparent water tank, a locking lever knob, a power light, and a ready indicator. The press also comes with a detailed use guide, a spray bottle, and a water container. --Emily Bedard

I have had my press for a long time with zero problems! Forget the dry cleaners for men's slacks. I have saved hundreds of dollars by pressing my husband's washable slacks myself instead of paying $ each at the dry cleaners! Very easy to use. Each pair takes me about 2 minutes! Of course it has many other pressing uses but I love skipping the dry cleaners!

I have one of these irons and love it. I use it all the time for my sewing business. It saves me time, when I am pressing material. My kids love it for pressing t-shirts and jeans.

The press works as advertised, presses slacks and shirts in half the time. Irons best when the clothing being pressed is damp. You still need to keep your iron handy for that early morning before work touch-up as the the unit takes quite a while to heat up.The unit is better suited for volume pressing or volume touch-ups(We iron once a week). I cannot remember the last time I used the old iron!
