So hubby had to do that for me. I didn't want the stand attached to my desk so I had him attach it to the bottom of a piece of wood. It is 1" thick, 10" long and 8" wide and it works perfectly. Very durable and sturdy and should last me a long time. Happy sewing Ya'll! By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: SINGER 228776C Thread Stand My guess is this item is intended for use in a high-production environment. It is 21 inches high, and has a large footprint, 5" x 12". The only way to mount it is to screw it onto your surface, or screw it to a board, then clamp the board to your equipment. I crowded it onto my sewing table, because I needed it, and live 100 miles from the closest sewing store. The stand holds two large spools or cones of thread, up to 5" diameter, 12" high, and feeds the thread off of them vertically through a simple overhead bent wire arrangement. It works well, but you have to have a large flat space to mount it. Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: SINGER 228776C Thread Stand I really like it but it didn't come with assembly instructions. I had to look at the picture and figure it out. Also it didn't come with a stand. Fortunately, my brother is a handy man and he mounted it on a piece of wood. So I use it and it really works well, but it took awhile to get it to that point. |
