Two issues are: measurement conflicts on the design diagram, and in the initial break-in period the roller bearings will wear down the painted surface they travel against and the paint will chip off unevenly impeding the free travel of the mechanism without a little helpful push with your hand. Once all the paint is worn off it travels normally though. In general a good mechanism, but I hope it gets engineering updates. 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sewing Machine Lift Mechanism (Kitchen) Really, the manufacturer of this product is one of the few that make a sewing machine lift--and it is probably a wonderful lift, but there are no instructions or templates to show you precisely where it must be attached or how it works. Contacting the company didn't help much either--they don't have instructions but can send you to a website for a breakdown of the parts. I had to send this back and buy a sewing cabinet that already had one installed. By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sewing Machine Lift Mechanism (Kitchen) My husband installed this lift into an older sewing machine cabinet that I purchased from a local auction market. He wasn't sure how well it was going to work, but after soome careful measuring and planning, discovered a way to make it work perfectly. My machine is a Brother Innov-is 950D embroidery machine so he had to be sure there would be room for the base to clear when it was lifted up from below and still be even with the top of the cabinet so use was comfortable. He used a piece of walnut (stained to match my cabinet) and attached it to the lift. The machine sits snugly and the embroidery attachment can be added easily when lift is in the full-use mode.
I am so happy with how it turned out. |
