Well worth the 400 dollars. This is the exact clone of the $600 Janome DC5011 so parts availability or repair is not going to be a problem. I say this as it is my understanding that Sears is dropping the Kenmore line of sewing machines, so these are the last of them. My thought is buy now or be forsaken. Never to be a Kenmore sewer and a tad poorer (By $200 perhaps).
This Machine is a joy. Stitches beautifully and quietly. 'Tiz well built and quite attractive to look upon. I bought this to replace a new Brother CS6000i as it was unable to tolerate my lack of skill. It was totally incapable to stitch together Concrete Building Blocks but I'm sure the Kenmore will. I'll mainly use it for general work as its now new siblings are dedicated Quilting Machines and disdain the workaday tasks we all but they face.
The one thing I don't like is the foot that one uses the most and is chromed. I've installed a auxiliary light

Had the original version of this machine many years ago and when I found this one on Amazon.com, I was so happy to purchase such a great machine. Love the many stitches, alpha and numeric, etc. and it is such a quiet machine. This was one of my best purchases on Amazon. Thanks so much!
