Purchased this serger after checking out reviews on the Web. Juki seemed to have a good reputation for reliability. It came threaded with the threads cut off & wrapped around the presser foot knob. A lot of people tie on another thread and do not thread the machine.I was determined to learn how to thread it and removed the cut off threads & threaded it with new thread. It was not as hard as I thought it would be but you will need tweeser's and the supplied thread hook. I tested the machine and it sewed perfectly. The machine was quieter than I expected and seems to be well built. I was impressed with the fit and finish of the parts as well as the cast aluminum frame. When operating there is very little vibration.Looks like a keeper, time will tell.

Great machine, I'm just a learner and vie managed to sew up a few garments already in the past month that vie had it, really quiet, no sliding round, color coded threading system, and nice and fast!
Id definitely recommend this machine.

This is my first serger and I am very new to sergering. I wanted to sew upcycle clothing. I sought out the advice of a sewing class but after hearing the fee of "$100 for 3 hours", I decided to tackle this on my own. After a couple of hours (I just needed to make sure to thread properly:), I made my first piece of upcycle clothing! Then I started making more! I love it! With this purchase, I am on my way to reinventing my entire wardrobe without buying new clothes! I chose this model because it was recommended by Katwise on Etsy and I have to say thank you Katwise and thank you Amazon!
