This review is from: Janome FM-725 Needle Felting Machine By The Each This is a crafting tool, not a sewing machine, but if you like to needle felt, rug hook, crochet, etc. or other things that give you a lot of "fiber" materials in your crafting closet, this thing is marvy! You can take a piece of felt, burlap, muslin, and make tapestries and wall hangings with yarn, roving, bits and pieces of ribbon, etc. in half the time it would take to do it by hand. Although it will "join" materials together, it is not like an applique process where the pieces could potentillialy withstand a machine washing, so for garments you will probably need additional hand-sewing on elaborate creations. But -- it's fun and has "no rules" for use. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Maine Coast "Beth" (Searsport,, ME USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Works well and its fun to use. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I turned it on and it purred as the 5 needles went into their individual holes. I once had a machine by a different manufacturer and the single needle would hit the plate. Not good. It comes with an extra needle holder with 5 needles. Other manufacturers supply on the machine a needle holder that allows you to change each of the needles individually, also allowing you to choose how many needle you want to use at a time and different sizes. Janome makes it as an optional accessory that does allow you to change the needles individually, however you have to pay almost $40 to get it, and you will want it, adding on to the cost of the machine. It has a second needle plate with 1 large hole that works with a single needle holder that they give you. It is nice to have the extra needle plate. Perhaps on day they will add another needle plate and a holder that...Read more |
