Good machine--bought it from a small locally owned shop, though, because of the first year of free repairs and trade-in within 6 months, 20 year warranty, and a free lesson on all the features and how to use them. Just some nice perks that you might not be interested in having.
This is a great machine. I sewed through 2 layers of sew-in Peltex, 2 layers of fusible fleece, and four layers of quilting cotton with minor hesitation but no jams. Definitely capable.

I have been working with a cheap machine for several years and have had some pretty frustrating experiences. Working with this machine has been wonderful. All of the functionality has been incredibly useful and it was quick to get started on with a VERY good instruction book. Definitely recommend!

This machine is fabulous. I can't say enough about it. It has all the features I love including an automatic buttonholer (one step), automatic needle threader, and a multitude of decorative stitches. It is SO quiet too. On my old machine I couldn't sew when the baby was sleeping for fear of waking her up but this one is so quiet and wonderful. If you want to sew fast, the machine is very stable and doesn't make the table wobble like my Singer machine used to. The instruction manual is easy and very well written. The only problem was that Amazon didn't include the automatic button hole attachment in the package and I had to call several times to get one sent. They eventually just sent me one at no additional charge. I'm very pleased with this machine.
